A few metres back from the beach is the Oliva Nova Golf and Country Club with its own 18-hole golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros which has become an important club in the golfing world, it attracts golfers from the USA and Europe who gather here to combine their favourite sport with a perfect sunshine holiday.
The beaches are one of Oliva's biggest plus points - beautiful, long stretches of fine, golden sand which never gets crowded even in high season. The beaches are bordered by sand dunes and strict planning controls - all the buildings behind the beaches are low rise developments.
There's a wealth of watersports and the warm winds which tend to prevail along this stretch of coast in the summer make it a paradise for windsurfers and kiteboarders.
Only 5 kms distant is Oliva town which lies at the heart of Spain’s orange growing region. Very Spanish in character and virtually unscathed by the invasive frills of tourism and is an interesting place to visit for history, local culture and sampling a taste of "the real Spain".
Between the town of Oliva, Mustalla and the Segaria mountains lies Europe's biggest subterranean lake - 1,000 hectares of wetland which has been designated a protected nature reserve for plants and wild life. The wetlands are a magnet for storks, ducks, moorhens and many species of migratory birds.
